HIGHLIGHTS: all nominations converge at Mike's extremely funny sense of humour & coffee-chats in a non-cafe setting!
We tried to visit a manufacturer (Swiss Water Process) and get some periscope hearts this week! It was oddly refreshing to return to the world of manufactured food. Swiss Water Process is a coffee company that uses a patented process to decaffeinate coffee for roasters, they also purchase coffee and it gets sent all around the world!
Industry vs. Coffee Drinker - who are you?
A great approach is to cater to your audience - whether you are a green coffee trader to a coffee drinker. Swiss Water does not sell directly to coffee drinkers, but they speak to consumers to increase awareness and demand from the top down.... or is it bottom up? Well, just listen to the chat.
NYC POP_UP 'The Art of Coffee Without Caffeine'
(OCT 30 - NOV 8)
A pop-up shop like no other. Swiss Water is hosting an unconventional cafe in New York's Soho district. It opens from 11 am to 11 pm, not typical hours of a cafe right? - Well, it's not a typical cafe.
Different brew methods with espresso & single origin coffees and a few blends will be on offer.
Local music and artists will be present as part of the event and well, of course they will be talking decaf!
YVR Swiss Water Process 'Open House'
(12pm, October 29)
If you'd like to see the process and walk through the plant in Burnaby, here's your chance! It's coming up this week, so email your details on if you're interested in attending.
To Swiss Water Process: Can we please bring that shop to Canada? Break down decaf stigma, how can we build the coffee conversation in Vancouver?
Take home: no hearts for the decaf coffee :( *sadface*
Sound quality: is it better? Comment below if you're liking it or hating it. Or tweet or email me so we can be coffee friends!
